On Monday, Wearable Devices Ltd. (NASDAQ:WLDS) disclosed that it has received a notice of allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for its patent application titled “Gesture and Voice-Controlled Interface Device.”

The patent safeguards the company’s gesture-controlled interface, allowing wearable technology to measure real-world physical properties directly from the wrist.

It covers capabilities such as estimating the weight of an object, detecting torque applied when securing rotating objects like screws and faucets, and measuring the force exerted when fastening electrical cable harness connectors.

Additionally, the patent encompasses advancements in voice command functionality, user experience, extended reality (XR) integration, and brain-computer interfaces.

This technology offers significant real-world benefits, particularly in three key areas: improving embodiment for individuals with severe disabilities, enhancing efficiency in logistics and industrial operations, and elevating immersion in virtual environments.

Guy Wagner, co-founder, President and Chief Science Officer of Wearable Devices Ltd said, “The newly allowed patent demonstrates the power of neural interfaces in enhancing everyday tasks – whether it’s weighing groceries, measuring the torque applied when closing a faucet, or ensuring connectors are properly fastened. Now that the patent is secured, we are diligently integrating these advanced features into our products to enrich our customers’ lives.”

Last week, Wearable Devices disclosed plans to implement a one-for-four reverse share split, which will apply to both ordinary shares and tradable warrants.

Price Action: WLDS shares are up 0.44% at $1.812 at the last check Monday.
